We are living in a time in history where there are roughly the same number of people with excess weight and obesity than people that are undernourished in the world. Through the LIMARP Foundation, our non-profit organization, we want to make it our goal to help underserved communities struggling with obesity and plan on helping guide Mexico away from the top spots in the list of countries with the highest levels of childhood and adult obesity.

On June 15th, Tijuana embarked on a purposeful endeavor. The “Castro Limón Foundation” Half Marathon commemorates Pablo, a courageous two-year-old boy battling cancer whose story serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of perseverance. From the commencement line at the “Castro Limón Foundation” to the conclusion at the “Estadio Caliente,” each stride represents a tribute to hope, fortitude, and the children who should never be burdened with this struggle alone. At LIMARP, we are honored to stand in solidarity with them, and with every participant who carries their message throughout the city.

S.O.S. Covid TJ is a group of women who responded to the urgent call of the Tijuana General Hospital, which was in dire need of funds, medical supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to confront the COVID-19 crisis.

In two months of selfless work and in-kind donations, we raised the amount of $135,205.00 dollars, which were distributed in medical supplies to various hospitals in Tijuana.

Dr. Liza María Pompa organized and sponsored the “How Much Does Your Life Weigh?” health fair and race, promoting physical activity and awareness about excess weight. The event included a 5 km walk, a 10 km run, an ideal weight expo, and the formation of a human peace symbol, under the motto “For a state free of overweight”.
