Dr. Gonzalez: My name is Dr. Liza Maria Pompa González. I´m the Director of LIMARP International Center of Excellence for Obesity, and I´m also the lead bariatric surgeon in the clinic. My office started as a general surgery practice. But we actually saw that we could make the clinic a Center of Excellence practice. So in 2012, we did a full remodeling of the clinic, and we have new rooms specialized for patients that have overweight or obesity. Bariatric surgery is about getting a patient to a healthy weight. But bariatric surgery is so good, that it doesn´t only influence your weight, it also resolves some chronic problems, such as hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea. LIMARP it´s all about patients first. We have some values that are very, very important to us, respect the patient, professionalism, trust. We have been in this industry of the bariatric surgery for 10 years. We have a lot of experience with thousands of patients that come over to have surgery here. They can expect, also, a good follow-up after surgery. That is so important to be really successful after surgery. Patient: The follow-up she gives you pre and after surgery were crucial versus a lot of my friends had surgery in other clinics. She made it very human to me. She really made it a point to get to know me. Although I know the surgery is the same sort of surgery that she does on a lot of patients, it felt very unique to me. Dr. Gonzalez: We have a good experience with patients traveling to have surgery here. Because thats also important to have the logistics available for transportation, hotel. Give every patient some attention to their needs of traveling to come here.
