Why Dr. Liza Maria Pompa Gonzalez?
She has quite an impressive background in the field of medicine.
Not only is she brilliant, but she is an incredible woman with a great deal of compassion and professionalism.
Dr. Pompa started her medical studies more than a decade ago achieving the prestigious “A.H Robbins” Award of academic excellence, to later compete for a spot on Surgery Residency among thousands of applicants, accomplishing the First Place in the Surgical Residency Nation wide Exam.
Her natural surgical skills and brilliant academic performance were noted during her Surgery Residency at Tijuana’s General Hospital in Mexico, after that it was when she trained at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota, perfecting new and advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgical techniques. She is known for her extensive preparation in the surgical field completing her training overseas in the European Institute of Telesurgery in Strasbourg, France.
In numerous occasions she has been designated as the professor of Laparoscopic Surgery Training programs, teaching novel surgical techniques and performing live exhibition surgery.
Credited for being one of the youngest surgeons to be certified by Inamed and Johnson & Johnson and the only woman surgeon doing advanced laparoscopic bariatric surgical procedures in her country.
Dr. Pompa is the Director of LIMARP SURGICAL UNIT which is one of the busiest weight loss surgery centers across the country.
